‘The Archaeology of Bunclody – From Prehistoric to Present’ with Barry Lacey.
Bunclody today is a busy town on the border of Wexford and Carlow. Historically it is often best associated with the 1798 rebellion but its history extends much further back. Have you ever wondered though exactly how far? Archaeological excavations from in and around the town can help us answer just that question! This talk will trace its history by considering the results of archaeological excavations together with historical sites and ruins from in and around Bunclody. Ruins no longer visible and known only known by name such as Clohamon Castle will also be discussed.
