Community Bike Ride taking place from Riverchapel to Ballymoney

Bike Week May 15th Love Gorey

Community Bike Ride taking place from Riverchapel to Ballymoney

It’s Bike Week! And there’s no better place to start our ride than at the Courtown/Riverchapel BMX track.
We will be taking our time today and enjoying everything the beautiful surrounding area of north county Wexford has to offer us. Heading out the main road, we will be taking a right and right again to take us onto the L5084. We cycle up to the junction at Knockroe, where we go right again until we reach Boleany Crossroads. We take another right turn here and follow the L1029 until we reach the R742 where we take a left hand turn. We take the next right onto the L1000 and then take the next left and then right bringing us over onto the L5041 in the direction of Ballymoney Golf Club. Turning right at the next crossroads and then left, we head down the road to the beach to catch a breath of fresh(er) air. We’ll take our break here, get a drink of water or a quick coffee/tea and gather ourselves for the spin back. We will head back up the road we came down and at the T-junction we will turn left in the direction of Courtown. We follow the L1000 all the way back to the main road, the R742, where we turn left and continue on the R742 all the way back to our start point at Riverchapel Downs. This completes our Community Bike Ride for today.
New faces welcome on all rides!
It’s always a good idea to check that your tyres are pumped up, your brakes work and that your chain is oiled. Check the weather forecast and wear soft comfortable layers. It’s always a good idea to bring a small bottle of water. Helmets are compulsory.
