Coolgreany St Patrick’s Day parade
March 17 @ 12:30 pm - 1:30 pm
“Wexford’s Friendliest Parade”
This is Coolgreany’s 11th St Patrick’s Day Parade. All monies raised go to charities or to local voluntary groups.
A small parade generally with about 30-40 entries maximum and possibly Wexford’s shortest parade!
The parade starts at 12.30pm with entrants gathering from 12 noon at the Lower Street, Coolgreany.
The Arklow Pipe Band and the Grand Marshall will lead the parade up Coolgreany Main St among much fanfare. A street bedecked by the Tidy Towns group in green, white and gold.
The May Byrne Community House based on middle Main St opens its doors for the day and volunteers provide tea and sandwiches to all and sundry for free.
MC John Rush does a marvelous job at providing music and plenty of banter to keep everyone amused.
And three impartial judges will pick the winners of the six categories and finally the best overall.
The six catergories are: Best Vintage Display, Best Vintage Vehicle, Best Marching Entry, Most Original, Best Children’s Entry and Best Float.
