Summer camps are here again and will be hosted in “The Woodlands” in Killenerin once more. Suggested age range is 6 to 12 but if you have a child outside this range who might like to attend, give me a ring and we can have a chat about the possibilities. Cost is 25euro/day.
Sessions will be facilitated by me, Shane, along with another depending on numbers.I’m Forest School trained, am experienced at sensitively mentoring and fostering a curiosity and love of Nature in young people and love and have a passion for my work.
Camps run from 10 to 2 with drop off and pick up at the car-park at “The Woodland” See the booking form under “Site Location” for details. Bookings are by Google Form. Follow the link under Tickets URL to book.
We spend the whole days outdoors in a private woodland starting the day with games to help everyone settle and get to know each other and the place and followed by a day filled with a mix of structured activities and free time to explore, hang out or continue to learn skills depending on the groups interests and needs. Low adult to child ratios mean we can accommodate very active kids and those who like a slower pace.
Over the course of three days we will be exploring ancestral crafts (bushcraft),like learning cordage making from plant fibres, spoon carving, animal tracking, making cordials from foraged goodies as well as leaving expansive time for play, wandering and hammocking and whatever other interests and themes arise with a bit of storytelling, tree-climbing and development of our secret woodland skills thrown in for good measure.
The multi-day format also allows individuals and the group the possibility to explore an interest or project in depth if that is what they wish to do or just to spend longer hanging out in their favourite spots in the woods if they have been coming to us regularly over the last year.
