Author Talk – More than two sides to the Border Story
Join Darach MacDonald, author of ‘Hard Border’, in Gorey Library for this talk in which he explores the story of a century of Irish partition from the various perspectives of all those communities who live in its shadow.
If you are interested in modern Irish history and current affairs,
you are promised a better understanding of a missing part of Ireland’s historical narrative from the viewpoint of different communities living on a border imposed between neighbours and family members.
Darach MacDonald originally from Clones, Co. Monaghan, now lives in Derry city.
The child of a marriage that linked Portadown, Clones, Limerick, Fermanagh, and Cavan, among quite a few other places,
he has spent most of his life flitting back and forth across the border. He is a professional journalist,
the former editor of the Ulster Herald newspaper group and author of five books, mostly about the border.
