Wells House and Gardens is a private, 450 acre estate, which includes 100 acres of woodland. This award winning tourism destination opened to the public in July 2012 and grown to be a first class venue with a focus on customer experience, value for money and the continued restoration of the house and grounds. We aim to be the number 1 tourist destination in the South East of Ireland. The house and gardens were designed by the architect Daniel Robertson, gardens include a terrace garden, parterre garden, tree lined avenue, annual beds, woodland walks, arboretum, walled in gardens, vegetable production tunnel and area and two woodland walks.

We will provide a magical, welcoming and memorable destination, offering high quality short breaks and events where the heritage of the house & estate are celebrated to engage visitors of all ages.
We will be generating the revenue we need to protect our natural environment, beautiful gardens and historic house, continuing the education, conservation and restoration of the house and estate for the community in years to come.
We will strive to develop the attraction and listen to our visitors and community to ensure the attraction just gets better and better each year.

As an Animal Keeper you will be responsible for caring for the animals within the farm and overseeing their well- being.
• Keep animal enclosures clean, germ free and safely secured
• Prepare food such as pellets, fresh produce, meat or hay and administer medications.
• Observe animals and check for any signs of distress or ill health
• Design, build and repair environments which are as close to natural habitats as possible.
• Come up with creative ideas for enrichment to keep animals active and interested in their environments
• Work with other professionals such as vets
• Educate visitors by sharing your animal knowledge through demonstrations with live animals, talks, tours and visitor experiences.
• Keep daily detailed records of behaviour, eating habits, births, deaths and other events.
• Assist with breeding procedures and raising young animals.
• Train animal behaviour to make feeding, medicating and monitoring easy and safe.
• Assist in the promotion and marketing of the animal farm to encourage awareness and introduce new activities and events for our large family based customers
• Devise and prepare workshops and school trips for our younger visitors and prepare all necessary marketing collateral required.
