What to do on your 2K Tidy Up!

This year rather than choosing an area to tidy in North Wexford Gorey Kilmuckridge Municipal District and Love Gorey are asking families to look after a 2K area within the radius of their home in keeping with the current COVID-19 restrictions.

So, grab a pair of gloves, a bin bag & go for a walk with an accompanying adult to gather some litter!

Once you have gathered the debris and rubbish in your area and filled a bag, take a photo of your family or the bag that you have filled or a before & after photo of the area you have cleaned up and post it on the Love Gorey social media channels using the hashtag #my2ktidyup and tag @LoveGorey to be in with a chance to win a prize. Share to Facebook, Twitter or Instagram to be in with a chance to win.

Guidelines!

Parents are asked to ensure the area where litter is being picked is safe to do so and the participants are advised against touching any waste that might be deemed a danger to anyone. If you encounter illegal dumping or dangerous or hazardous materials, it can be reported by calling 0539196000, during office hours.

Ensure that the area is safe for children to carry out this tidy up, for ditches ensure there is no deep or fast-flowing water, slippery banks or sharp rocks. Be careful of barbed wire and electric fences!

All entrants will be entered into a draw for a selection of prizes.
