2020 has been a year where people have valued open space and fresh air more than ever, with so many activities and sporting games reviewed many people are taking up cycling and can often be seen early on Saturday and Sunday mornings in North Wexford as they enjoy the picturesque views and quiet country roads!
Wexford Trails in conjunction with Wexford Co Co developed the Nine Stones Cycling Trail in recent years, stretching from Kiltealy, Ferns, The Harrow, Ballycanew, Gorey, Clogh, Camolin, Sliabh Bhuí, Carnew and returns to Bunclody. This route is the perfect showcase for the quaint rural villages and towns with friendly cafes and restaurants providing the ideal stop off or stop offs during this 118km cycle route.
The route is as challenging physically as it is rewarding with the spectacular views of Sliabh Bhuí and the Nine Stones (at the summit of Mount Leinster) with strong links to our rich Celtic history. The route traverses County Wexford for the most part, but also enters parts of County Carlow and County Wicklow.
The Nine Stones Cycling Trail is the ideal getaway for cyclists who want to break away with numerous accommodation options available throughout depending on skill and fitness levels.
