Sunday 30th September 2018 @ 1pm…. North Wexford Traditional Singing Circle invites you to a Free Singing, Walking & Bus Tour called ‘Sean Nós Singing i nGuaire On Board The Gorey Caravan’. Join us on a journey through Gorey, Pallas and onto Courtown as we sing and explore the history around our local songs which will include the screening of a local documentary ‘Eileanóir na Rún’ featuring a well loved Gorey/Courtown song or two.
We are delighted to have members of The North Wexford Historical Society and Fionntán Ó Súilleabháin share their local knowledge on the day.
We will meet at the Car park beside Gorey Garda Station (old site of Rams Hotel) @ 1pm where we as a community will plant a beautiful native Rowan Tree as we begin our Tour. We are delighted to donate this tree to Gorey Tidy Towns and to be collaborating with them for this community event. We will be joined by guest speakers and singers before we stroll along the old route of The Gorey Caravan to The Market House. We will then travel by bus to Pallas and onto Courtown………
We will finish off the day with a mighty traditional singing session in The Taravie Hotel with light refreshments and a further exciting announcement!
