The Gap Arts Festival – MADEIRA – a new play by Michael J. Harnett
Starring Geraldine Plunkett, Deirdre Monaghan and Brenda Brooks, MADEIRA brings together three of Ireland’s premier actors.

Two sets of sisters meet in a Dublin café for what was expected to be a casual and friendly meeting. But suddenly, out of the blue, disturbing news emerges that shatters the atmosphere, and will challenge their lives for ever.
In heartfelt, yet amazingly sensitive dialogue, all the sisters show immense courage and love in how they handle the devastating news and move on.
MADEIRA comes to you from DTT – Dublin Touring Theatre – producers of The Noble Call, The Cloudspotter and Bullied.
PLUS, before the play, two short films with local connections…
Croghan’s Gold – The premiere of a short bilingual documentary film about the local gold rush in 1795. Made by Terence White and commissioned by the Gap Arts Festival. The film features local interviewees and a community crew. Supported by the “Wind Farm Community Fund” with additional funding from Foras na Gaeilge.
