After two long years away the St Patrick’s Parade returns to Gorey at 3pm on March 17th!

Not only do we have the festivities of St Patrick’s to look forward to but we also have an extra Bank Holiday on Friday 18th so here is some inspiration of what’s in store in North Wexford for the extra long weekend! Enjoy!

Soak up the atmosphere of another great Busking competition as part of the St Patrick’s Weekend celebrations in Gorey on Saturday 19th March from 11am to 5:30pm.
The entry forms for the busking competition are now available at Making Music, Market sq Gorey from 11am till 5.30pm or after hours at the loch Garman Arms

The Return of the St Patrick's Day Parade

Thursday 17th March at 3pm

The Gorey St.Patrick’s Day Parade is finally back and after a 2-year break, we are thrilled to see this event return! Joe Dixon is this year’s Grand Marshal and the parade this year will start at 3pm and follow the route from previous years.
We would love to have as many businesses, sports clubs, and organisations involved to make it a great day for the whole town, so if your business or organisation would like to get involved, application forms are available from Loch Garman Arms

As one of Ireland’s most acclaimed live artists, Paddy has headlined Irish festivals, Dublin Castle, played a week-long residency in the Olympia Theatre, performed his own headline concert in the RDS, has supported many top names worldwide including U2 and played live on The Late Show with David Letterman.

After his sell out performance at last year’s Sounds of Summer we are delighted to welcome Paddy back to Gorey!

Stand With Ukraine by The Ashdown Park Hotel

 Friday 18th March  

On 18th of March, The Ashdown Park Hotel are holding an event with all proceeds made going to the Irish Red Cross Ukraine Crisis Appeal. Redcross teams are on the ground now in Ukraine & will continue to work to repair vital infrastructure, support health facilities, families with food & hygiene items. 

The Bentley Boys Band have kindly offered to entertain us all in the Ashdown, with doors opening at 7.30pm 

ALL PROCEEDS including ticket & beverage sales are being donated.  Tickets are €20 so call the Ashdown on 053 9480500 to book tickets

St Patrick's Day at Medieval Ferns Experience

Thursday 17th March 

To celebrate St. Patricks Day the team at  Medieval Ferns Experience have invited Lorraine from #Gallivanting.ie. Lorraine will tell you all about the muckier side of medieval life and answer the age old question – Did St. Patrick use soap? You’ll also get an opportunity to make your own soap to take home. The Medieval Ferns Experience will be open as usual from 11am to 5pm and Lorraine will be with us from from 12noon to 4pm.
Drop in to see us any time, we’re open from Wednesday to Saturday and we’re located at Ferns Community Centre.

Charity Walk for Ukraine

Friday 18th March

The Little Walk for Kids (South Beach Cahore to Pier) meeting at 2pm or the more challenging *Big Walk from Raven Point to Cahore (27km). Book your place on the bus departing Ballygarrett National School 7am

The aim is for all walkers to be back at Chore Pier to join up with the Cahore Inshore Rescue Service for their Annual Swim & Activities.

Gorey Motor Club are holding their next Gorey Cars&Coffee event on the extra bank holiday Friday 18th March 2022.  The event will take place between 10am and 1pm in the Tesco Extra Car Park in Gorey. 

Have a yellow Car???

If so, bring it along as We will be holding a bucket collection in aid Of Daffodil Day for the Irish Cancer Society.
