Byrne Perry invites you to join John Bowman, historian and broadcaster, who will give the Opening Lecture at the 24th Byrne Perry Summer School on Friday, 29 June, at 7.30pm. He will speak on Irish women since 1916: from marginalisation to liberation.

On Saturday morning in Gorey Library, Byrne Perry will explore the history of Gorey and North Wexford in a series of short presentations and collect images for the Gorey 400 book at Gorey library.
A bus tour leaves Civic Square at 2pm for several historic sites in the surrounding area (see below). Bus tour costs €10, pay on the day, to book telephone 053-9483 808.
The theme of Byrne Perry this year is change. John Bowman talks about some of the many women in Ireland who have led the change agenda on the Friday night.
On Saturday, the theme moves to change in the local area, to the Gorey 400 book project.
There will be a series of four short presentations and people are also invited to bring original documentation they have of the Gorey area over the last 400 years and to talk to the local historian team. The items and images can also be scanned for Gorey 400, a joint North Wexford Historical Society and Byrne Perry book project .
The bus tour on Saturday afternoon, 30th June, from 2pm, of historic sites around Gorey gives people the opportunity to learn about some of the many cultural sites in the wider Gorey area. These include:
