Clones/Castletown Beach

Clones/Castletown Beach

A favourite with anglers, Clones beach is just a hop and a skip from the village of Castletown. A two-mile stretch of sand and shingle, it’s got Kilmichael Point to the north and Ballymoney to the south.
A slightly quieter alternative to Courtown and Old Bawn to the south, Clones has stunning views of its own. It’s not as sandy as its counterparts, but has a charm all of its own, including the narrow winding roads you travel to get here. Well worth the effort!

Nearest walk: Kilpatrick Beach cliff walk to Kilmichael Point. Tara Hill, for fabulous views. Watch out for the Famine village.
If it’s raining: Wexford Lavender Farm,
Nearest golf course: Ballymoney Golf Club
Nearest accommodation: Hotels in Ballymoney, Courtown, Gorey. Caravan Parks locally too.
