Craanford Mills: A journey to the past.

Craanford Mills is a unique early 17th-century family run heritage site and working museum featuring a restored and operational water wheel.

The corn grinding mill, originally established in 1610, was restored to full working order by the Lyons family and opened to the public by Michael and Anna Lyons in 1994.  Watch this video for more details – click here

The mill offers a nostalgic glimpse into the past with its flagstone floors worn by centuries of foot trafficc. While visiting, you can :

  • Observe the operational mill and informative exhibits.
  • Enjoy group tours, school visits, and sessions for active retirement groups.
  • Relax with a cup of tea and a scone in the ‘kiln loft’ tea rooms.
