Mick will be reading excerpts from his book “The Boy who Kicked the Nun” in Lawrence Murphy & Sons cafe alongside some guest performers. His debut book, is a memoir chronicling his life’s journey, from his early days in Tralee to his teaching career, culminating in his well-earned retirement and profound love for his North Wexford abode, giving an insight into moments of his life and observations.
Music on the night will be performed by Jazz Token, who are based in Baltinglass, have been playing together for six years now. They play jazz standards and instrumentals from the swing era to the nineteen sixties with a more modern flavour – from Cole Porter and Duke Ellington to Horace Silver and Sonny Rollins! Listen to some famous songs and to some of the stories behind them, or even dance to the beat of a classic jazz combo.
