Gorey Welcomes ras na ban September 2024

Gorey Welcomes Rás na mBan

For the first time in its 18-year history, Rás na mBan, Ireland’s only women’s international
bike stage race, has introduced a Wexford stage to its five-day schedule, which takes place
from September 4th to 8th.
The 2024 edition of the race is the 18th under the title of Rás na mBan and the 37th annual
international stage race for women in Ireland. In its current format, it runs for five days and
six stages totalling over 400km of racing action.
Rás na mBan will feature over 100 elite women cyclists, from ten countries, competing for
the prestigious Magenta Jersey of race leader. Teams from around the world, including the
Ireland National Team, will feature in the race.
The 104.2km Stage 3 of the race will leave from the Hoban Hotel in Kilkenny at 12 noon on
Friday, September 6th, and travel through Kiltealy and Bunclody, before taking on two
Queen of the Mountain challenges at Sliabh Buí and Ballymore, before heading for the finish
line on The Avenue in Gorey at approximately 2.40pm.
To facilitate construction and take-down of finish line infrastructure, and the safe passage of
riders and support vehicles, The Avenue (from Main Street Junction to Paul Funge
Boulevard Roundabout) and Shamble Lane will be closed to traffic on Friday 6 September
2024 from 11:30 to 17:00. Local access may be facilitated where possible.
Alternative routes will be in operation and will be signposted.
